FAU Teacher Prep à£à£Ö±²¥Ğã Ranked No. 1 in the State

Florida Atlantic University ’sÌı Elementary Education/ESOL/ReadingÌıprogram shares the No. 1 ranking for teacher prep programs in the state of Florida. Findings for 2020 were published in anÌıÌıprepared for theÌıÌı²ú²âÌı.Ìı“Florida Teacher Preparation à£à£Ö±²¥Ğãs: A Summary and Analysis of à£à£Ö±²¥Ğã Performance†reported the results of each approved teacher preparation program’s annual progress on established performance measures, as well as each program’s current approval status.

“The College of Education does an outstanding job preparing teachers for public schools.ÌıÌıWe are thrilled that the Florida Department of Education has documented the success of our à£à£Ö±²¥Ğã — taught by a first-rate faculty — who are improving the lives of K-12 à£à£Ö±²¥Ğã throughout South Florida and beyond,†saidÌıStephen Silverman, Ed.D., dean of FAU College of Education.

At the elementary level, the top-ranked program was Elementary Education/ ESOL/Reading offered byÌıFAU College of Education. The third largest program reviewed, Elementary/ESOL/Reading had the greatest increase in summative score, rising from a 2.6 in 2019 to a 3.8 this year, the highest overall summative score for 2020. In addition, it was one of two programs to earn the highest score of 4.0 for student learning growth on state wide assessments.
