FAU Attracts Record Number of National Merit Scholars
Florida Atlantic University has welcomed a record number of National Merit Scholars for the fall 2019 semester. A total of 35 National Merit Scholars are enrolled this semester and 11 of those finalists will join the聽聽at FAU'sin Jupiter.

Out of the 24 new National Merit Scholars, nine of them are from聽.
To become a National Merit finalist, each semifinalist had to submit a detailed scholarship application, which includes their academic record, extracurricular activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment history, honors and awards. They also had to be endorsed by a high school official, submit an essay and perform well on the SAT.听
The number of National Merit Scholars has increased every year since the fall 2015 semester. Last year, FAU had 22 National Merit Scholars enrolled for the fall 2018 semester.
