FAU’s Honors College Hosts STEM Summer ֱ

FAU’s Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College will host “MERGE,” a week-long residential summer program for high school ֱ from Sunday, July 24 through Friday, July 29. MERGE will focus on the important interaction among science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and the liberal arts.

“STEM-related career opportunities are on the rise and require well-rounded professionals who possess life skills such as critical thinking, creativity and collaboration that can be attained through the study of liberal arts,” said Christopher Strain, Ph.D., professor of American Studies, “MERGE will provide a unique educational experience through hands-on, interactive sessions led by Wilkes Honors College faculty, while also introducing high school ֱ to a collegiate live-learn environment.”

ֱ registration costs $400 per student and includes participation and transportation to all scheduled events, program supplies, fees, use of university facilities, meals and lodging. Scholarships are available based on financial need. The application deadline is Wednesday, May 18.
